Jacob James Widelski of Youngsville, NC sadly and suddenly left us on July 16, 2024, at the young age of 21. Jacob is survived by his mother, Stacy Jo Widelski, his father, Jason Widelski, stepmother Heather Widelski, his “Irish Twin” sister, Samantha Widelski, stepsister, Ava Carter, and his grandparents Kathy and Jim Widelski and Donna and Joe Smith. Jacob loved his family and is also survived by his Uncle Shawn, Aunt Tina, and cousins Skylar and Harper as well as several additional aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Jacob always spread joy and happiness wherever he went. He was known by many people as “Cowboy” and in his younger years as “Wacky.” He was the owner of Cowboy General Services and did landscaping and other projects for his customers. When he worked – he worked hard; when he played – he played hard and when he loved – he loved hard. He was highly active, enormously funny, fearless but most of all he had a heart of gold and was so lovable.
One of Jacob’s best qualities was his patriotism, he loved the USA, he respected the military and as a little boy he aimed to be a Marine. While he did not enlist in the service, he worked many hours with Marine recruiters, he was a Naval Sea Cadet for several years and in Wake Forest High School he was in the ROTC. It was not unusual for Jacob to stop and shake the hand of a veteran and thank them for their service. He proudly displayed the American Flag as well as other flags that he supported.
Through his childhood years, he was an avid athlete playing football, baseball, golf, rugby and he earned his red belt in Taekwondo. He loved the outdoors, and he could fish for hours upon hours. As he got older, he often talked about motorcycles and how he couldn’t wait to get one just as soon as he could. His dream finally came true; however, our nightmare had just begun. In a strange way, we take comfort knowing that Jacob left us doing what he loved. He grinned from ear-to-ear every time he got on his bike for it meant freedom and that’s how he wanted to live. Ride hard Jacob – until we see you again. We love you more than you could ever imagine and will always miss and remember your beautiful smile.
